Our puppy obedience class focuses on age-appropriate behaviors in a fun, relaxed environment, designed to introduce your puppy to basic skills that will set the foundation for later learning. We focus on a set of core skills that every puppy needs to be a happier, more well-behaved dog.

Intro to Rally-0
Rally Obedience is a a team sport where you and your best friend navigate a specially designed course. This course consists of 10-20 different signs providing visual instructions for the skill that is to be performed. You and your dog move through the course at your own pace side-by-side with your dog on your left and the signs on your right. Rally Obedience was created to allow you to actively reinforce good dog behavior in competition by using verbal and non-verbal praise. Smiles, encouraging words, laughter and a general happy feeling are encouraged in the ring for training and for competition. The main goal of Rally is to demonstrate your ability to work as a team while performing skills, with the dog under control.
Skills we will work in class: heel, sit, down, stay, and front positions
Prerequisites: Age appropriate vaccines required, Good Manners 1, STAR Puppy, or by instructor’s permission
Class Start Date: 4/29/2025
Ages: For dogs six months and older.
Duration: 6 weeks.
Cost: $150
Introduction to Scentwork
This class is all about building a solid foundation for your pup–a love of searching, an understanding of their job to find the birch oil, and how to use their nose to read the odor. Our philosophy is always to teach skills so that if a student gets hooked later and wants to compete, they have a foundation that allows them to easily trial.
♦ Introduction to Birch odor
♦ Build up a love of searching
♦ Begin odor obedience (stay at source)
♦ Learn about searching containers
♦ Start to develop an indication
♦ Humans start learning to read when their dog is on odor
♦ Humans learn how to appropriately handle odor, scent q-tips, and prevent cross contamination
Teams may stay in intro for more than one round if they are still building a joy of searching.
Age appropriate vaccines are required.
Prerequisites: Having completed either our STAR Puppy Class, Good Manners, or by trainer approval
Class Start Date: 4/24/2025
Ages: For dogs six months and older.
Duration: 6 weeks.
Cost: $150
Agility
Dogs and Humans agree that Agility Class is very fun but it also is a great place to work on off-leash control in an environment full of distractions. Once you have the basics of obedience down, you are ready to enroll in our Agility class. This class is also great for building confidence in dogs that are less than enthusiastic about tackling agility obstacles. You can continue your agility training by practicing new courses and handling techniques each week.
